Alcohol & MDMA

Alcohol and MDMA (ecstasy or molly) are two substances that affect the central nervous system (CNS) in different ways. Alcohol is a depressant that slows down CNS activity, while MDMA is a stimulant and euphoretic with a psychedelic basis that increases CNS activity. When taken together, these substances can have complex and potentially dangerous interactions.

One possible mechanism of interaction between alcohol and MDMA is that alcohol can increase the absorption of MDMA into the bloodstream, leading to higher levels of the drug in the body. MDMA can also increase the release of certain neurotransmitters, such as serotonin and dopamine, which can cause a feeling of euphoria and increased energy. However, many reports note that the euphoria of MDMA in the combination of a large amount of alcohol loses its "magic".

Alcohol can also increase the toxicity of MDMA by altering its metabolism in the liver. When alcohol and MDMA are both present in the body, the liver prioritizes the metabolism of alcohol, which can lead to an accumulation of toxic metabolites of MDMA in the body. This can increase the risk of MDMA-related neurotoxicity and liver damage.

At the same time, MDMA can mask the effect of alcohol to some extent, and if you lose control of the situation (and this is quite likely), in addition to the above, a powerful alco intoxication and its consequences will be added.

Also, people under alcohol are able to take large doses of MDMA due to a decrease in the locus of control of the cerebral cortex and the same masking effect from the combination. This can result in a higher concentration of MDMA in the body, which can increase the risk of MDMA-related side effects such as dehydration, hyperthermia, and rare serotonin syndrome.

Some of the side effects and dangers associated with combining alcohol and MDMA include:

Dehydration: Both alcohol and MDMA can cause dehydration, and when taken together, this effect can be intensified. Dehydration can lead to a range of health problems, including kidney damage, seizures, and even death.

Increased heart rate and blood pressure: MDMA can increase heart rate and blood pressure, and when combined with alcohol, this effect can be amplified. This can lead to heart palpitations, chest pain, and even heart attack.

Increased risk of accidents: Combining alcohol and MDMA can increase the risk of accidents, including car accidents and falls. This is because both substances can impair coordination and balance.

Cognitive impairment: Both alcohol and MDMA can impair cognitive function, including memory, attention, and decision-making. When taken together, this effect can be compounded, leading to impaired judgment and risky behavior. It has been proven that the relatively safe (with the proper approach) substance MDMA in combination with alcohol shows signs of neurotoxicity. Let them not be immediately noticeable, but under certain conditions, they can create the ground for serious problems with the head and mind in the future.
It can lead to a range of long-term side effects, including headaches, anxiety, paranoia, depression, and sleep disturbances.

It is worth noting that all the negative effects are dose-dependent and we live in the real world, where people often combine these substances. If you decide to do this, please take the minimum dosages of MDMA, drink weak alcohol (beer, diluted wine), set clear limits with drinks (1-2), and also drink water (mineral water without gas is even better) in small portions (it`s important) throughout the whole trip.

Also, use this combination with caution in new places with a lot of people. The best choice would be a group of friends, a familiar place, a room with good oxygen access, or an open space.

Considering the above, we recommend treating this combination with great caution.

I enjoy having two or three beers before I take MDMA as it eases my come up anxiety. I had one bad roll and now it is a necessity if I am to get through peaking for fifteen minutes.

When I started rolling, I was told to NEVER mix these. I understand some people don’t know when to stop and they end up overheating like a bitch and passing out while throwing up everywhere, but I have pretty good control with alcohol. I’m more of a marijuana enthusiast.

Conclusion: Just don’t get shitfaced.
