For me, the best solution is a mixture of acetone (10 parts) to 1 sulfuric acid (1 part). After acidification, I can additionally rinse with acetone.
I have always done this with methanol, I have only heard that methanol is supposed to make you blind.
What bothers me about acetone is the extreme odour.
You always get the same odour when washing with acetone.
