What is the difference between amphetamine and Methamphetamine?

Chemically Methamphetamine has an additional Methyl(CH3) group bonded to the Amine (NH2). Methamphetamine is also more potent then speed if the same quality of the product is compared. As in for toxicity methamphetamine is considered more neuro-toxic then amphetamine, this does not mean amphetamine is "safe" it just means its slightly less damaging.

Methamphetamine is a more potent amphetamine, not only in intensity but also in duration. The first time I tried meth, one line lasted over 12 hours.
The only thing that changes is that amphetamine is a primary amine and meth is a secondary amine.
