There are already scientists claiming that they can produce very cheap large amounts of THC by extracting the DNA of Cannabis plants, modifying their "properties" to produce with only "yeast" as much THC as they want. Its basically a fungus and spreads like it.

If I understood it correctly this procedure may produce some unwanted exotic cannabinoids as well.

They are basically mimicking the metabolism (chemical process within the plant) additionally they change the DNA to accept a different form of nutrition/energy.

Is it possible to be done by retards like myself if we "just" follow a recipe?

It is really possible to produce cannabinoids with the help of special yeast. The technology itself is most likely not complicated, but it is very, very difficult to find or derive independently the culture of the necessary yeast.

Extracting DNA seems to be - more or less - easy

But changing its properties to produce THC seems to be another level (can't find any information regarding this, I tried to find tutorials/examples for "simple" DNA modifications but couldn't find any relevant data).
