INTRODUCTION:
N,N-Dimethyltryptamine, commonly known as DMT, is a powerful psychedelic and mostly known for its short duration of action, unlike LSD, DMT effects can last from 15 mintues to 3 hours depending on the way it's taking. DMT can be injected, inhaled, or ingested with "monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI)", (MAOI) inhibit the activity of "monamine oxidase". without MAOI; the body quickly metabloizes orally-administered DMT.
DMT has been controversial among scientist on whether it's produced in the brain or not. in rick strassman's book, DMT: The Spirit Molecule: A Doctor's Revolutionary Research into the Biology of Near-Death and Mystical Experiences , he addressed that DMT might be produced in the "pineal gland" and that DMT is the "spirit molecule" and has something to do with the "soul". currently it's not proven whether DMT can be produced in the brain or not but the enzymes that are necessary to produce DMT have been shown to exist in human tissues but outside the brain itself. infact, the presence of DMT in urine was tied to people with schizophrenia and psychosis (Jacobs and Presti, 2005)
DMT AND EXTERNAL ENTITIES:
many cases have reported encounters with external entities from "hyperdimensional" space in their psychedelic experience or "trip". those external entities resembles creatures more like aliens and insects, or "entities" on humanoid form.

DMT EFFECTS:

- Reliving painful memories or traumas.
- Fear of death.

- Disorganized thought
- Persistent paranoia
