In most PVC glues, THF is present in >30% amounts, which makes it a good source for extracting. However, how would one go about doing this?
Only Cyclohexanone and MEK are soluble in water, THF is miscible, and PVC is not. I prepared a table to see what each compound is soluble in. If anybody has any tips on how to get it [it being THF, and there being the glue] out of there, that would be extremely helpful!
. Simple distillation will work. It was a pain to wash flasks after. Lesson was learned and later I started to distill straight from the container glue was sold in. Metal cans. Just make a suitable hole, plug your still head in (use PFTE tape on your still head). Used container was then just disposed.
