Question How to make methylamine?

Hello everyone, do you know one or more methods for making methylamine? I saw the video on the forum(http://bbzzzsvqcrqtki6umym9itixfhni...d.onion/media/methylaminine-hcliSynthesis.18/) but from what I understand you get not a lot of methylamine, the rest remains chloride of ammonium to be reused.

250 grams of Ammonium Chloride and 500 grams of 37% Formaldehyde mixed in 1L round bottom flask and heated and temp maintained at 104 celcius. Distilled until no more water comes. That took around 6 hours. When water distilling over, flask removed from heating mantle and cooled in freezer below 10 celcius. All ammonium chloride crystals came out. Filtered ammonium chloride and transfered liquid anohter beaker. Then liquid concentrated to half volume and more ammonium chloride came out. Filtered again and liquid concentrated to half volume again. When liquid turned into orange color and produce a lot of fumes, liquid poured into anohter beaker and crystals came out immediately then turned into solid cake. Cooled below 10 celcius again. Then washed with 250 mL chloroform and filtered again. Filtered crystals boiled in 250 mL absolute methanol and all methylamine dissolved. Some ammonium chloride left behind. Filtered and ammonium chloride discarded. Filtered liquid cooled in freezer overnight and filtered again. Yield is 72 grams of pure methylamine.

There are lot of pages where you can find methylamine.

A lot better ones too.

It is the simplest one.

you know the best method to get pure methylamine, because I saw that there are more methods

yes there are always multiple methods to get a final products but either their yield is undesirable or require much complicated equipment and results are not worth the pain.

by above method you don't require any special glassware and yields are about ~90%. so this is the best i can think.

And the above product is methylamine hcl and you need ~40% aq sol. so the sol. will you get will be plenty.

i don't make it myself instead i buy it because it is super cheap about $1-50c per liter 99% liquid dcm.

I want to produce it myself to see how much money I can make, for now I don't think it's wise to produce meth directly. anyway why do you buy methylene and not methylamine?

Your method, which is described by you above, has 49.6% yield (in case that it is true pure methylamine). Do not mislead people here please.

i am really sorry i was looking at another synthesis and didn't watch carefully my intention was not to mislead anyone and this mistake won't happen again.

and this one i was not supposed to post here it was about extraction of DCM from a mixture in thinners.

actually this is your one about $2.5/kg methylamine hcl and 50c for 40% liq methylamine (and they do export to europe but not to america)
