methylmorphinan to heroin?

Hi everyone,

Is it possible to synthesize heroin from any methylmorphinan products?

if it isn't, then apart from starting with opium, codeine or morphine, how else could I synthesize heroin?

I don't think methylmorphinan is a lone compound, but I've come across several compounds that seem to be various forms of it.

I think these are the compounds I've been looking at:
-4,5α-Epoxy-3,6-dimethoxy-17-methylmorphinan - i think cas no: 33049-61-5
-d-3-Methoxy-N-methylmorphinan hydrobromide hydrate - cas no: 6700-34-1

A task has been finding an available precurser in bulk to synthesize heroin, so i've been trying to find out if it's possible to synthesize it from any methylmorphinan product. Isn't codeine a methylmorphinan? Its molar mass references it.

No, it is nonsense. Google what is morphinan and then add methyl group to nitrogen atom to get methylmorphinan.

ha, ok. yes, i wondered if it would be possible to convert either of these compounds to morphine and then onto heroin:

ok. is there anything apart from codeine or morphine that can be used to make heroin? maybe thebaine?

i thought that perhaps if something was morphine derived then it might be possible to convert it to heroin, hence my asking about the 2 compounds above. (i think they're semi-synthetic derivatives.)
