Benzene versus Toluene. Differences

Hi. The same synthesis with the same amounts of reagents and under the same conditions was carried out on Benzene and Toluene.

The organic phase on benzene bright yellow, ideal. On toluene it comes out red. What is the reason for this?

In tolueen i made 4mmc, when i do aceton and hcl i get always blie colour like i burn the mmc or sonething

Benzene is C6H6 but toulene is methylbenzene C6H5CH3 so its benzene with methyl group
