Problem with Water-Layer

I chose the red phosphorus and iodine method to cook methamphetamine from tablets, not the first time I've done that. It always worked perfectly and the result was good, but last time the layer of water in which the methamphetamine was located was extremely cloudy and when the water evaporated, a layer was formed that was comparable to foam and when the water had evaporated, A thick crust remained that looked like extreme lime.

I filtered everything 100 times and maintained the PH values, and I also maintained the temperatures. I haven't done anything differently than I have in recent years...

Why does this problem suddenly appear?
Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be?

I only use glassware!!

Sounds like they put some shit in your pills to stop people from making them into meth

I also thought I had done something wrong with the temperature or time.
I have 110-130 degrees Celsius for 40 to 60 minutes, then I cool down ...

I don't know what that says, but did you know they add stuff to pills that is water soluble up to 105° and then it becomes unsoluble That's what they are putting in pills these days

You had to remove a gelatin-like preservative before the reaction.

Is it possible that unreacted ephedrine is still present at the end?

I also noticed that when I add the hydrochloric acid, both layers become cloudy....maybe my hydrochloric acid is impure??

If ephedrine has not reacted with iodine and phosphorus, it returns ephedrine.

I am having a hard time finding the inactive ingredients. 60mg PSE and 2.5mg Tripolodine ?

Did you extract pills with a solvent first or what did you do?

Ingredients:
60mg PSE hydrochloride
2.5mg triprolidine hydrochl.1H20
Lactose, monohydrate, magnesium stearate, corn starch, povidone.

PILL EXTRACTION:

I dissolved the pills with distilled water, then put them in a glass with Tuolol and added NaOH... shaken... filtered... PH test... HCL and added distilled water... PH to 6 ....Water layer in Petri dish and water evaporate. (THE WATER LAYER LOOKED LIKE LEMON SODA, it was very cloudy.

Not sure if you resolved this issue but the best way to extract is to do 3 extractions with methanol or denatured ethanol. Then evaporate the solvent in a wok with a fan blowing vertically. Once thats done wash the PE with toulene or xylene to get all the blockers out. Let it settle then decant. Allow that to dry and if you want to be extra fussy, wash PE once with dry acetone which has been in a freezer for an hour or 2. Thats it. You are ready to roll

@DirkDiggler I don't know when the last time you tried this experiment was, but the companies have indeed been changing the formulation of their ephedrine/pseudoephedrine pills to stop people from isolating them for other purposes. I would advise against using H2O to extract your PSE as warm water is what always seems to active this binder to foul up the your product. I have only had success with pills that had PSE as the only active ingredient and I always used methanol to isolate my PSE from the pills.
