I saw a thread on sciencemadness about how one could produce propionic anhydride by thoroughly mixing calcium sulfate, and sodium pyrosulfate, hearing to 140C for 2 hours, then distilling at I think 172, or thereabouts.
Has anyone heard of this, or can speculate if it is true?
