Not a chemist, but imo it's slightly out of date in a sense.
All of it works, sure, but there are improvements IF they are available.
For example, nitromethane is much more convenient than producing methylamine from formaldehyde and ammonium chloride.
Then the Wacker oxidation does work, but palladium chloride is a bit more expensive and watched than it used to be, better off going through the isomerization of safrole to isosafrole, then the baeyer villiger oxidation to yield mdp2p, perhaps with oxone instead of a peracid
Just my opinion, and an unprofessional one at that. Nor advice for working at scale either.
