• Other control measures

Over time, a dealer accumulates a large amount of compromising data, which could lead to arrest.
Additionally, always keep in mind that tracking numbers and deal details pass through messengers, store staff, and marketplaces. Any link in this chain can compromise both the seller and the buyer.

The safest method of transferring goods is the contactless DEAD DROP technique. This method has advantages over all others because it doesn’t involve data registration, except for potential random CCTV footage. This must be taken into account—dead drops should be placed in locations outside the view of surveillance cameras.

It’s also worth noting that with dead drops, it’s harder for law enforcement to prove drug trafficking, as it’s not always clear whether you’re picking up or placing the drop—especially when dealing with a single address.

The Breaking Bad team recommends using the contactless transfer method (dead drops) while following all necessary security measures. Always remember that mistakes in this line of work lead to arrest and all the consequences that follow.

"Dead drops" don’t have a literal translation—in slang, it refers to hidden goods.

Of course, this method doesn’t guarantee a 100% successful transfer of goods, unlike a hand-to-hand exchange, since under certain conditions (e.g., if snow falls), it becomes harder to locate the exact spot.

This method has its drawbacks, but they are outweighed by the security of the deal, as the buyer and seller don’t know each other’s personal details. Even if 5% of all dead drops are lost, it’s still far better than losing 5% of people (market participants) due to police operations.
