In movie its dietylamine - if i replace dietylamine with dimetylamine (40% dimetyloamine solution in water) i will get DMT as a final product. Am i correct?
Hi, sorry for misunderstanding. You are right. Do not forget about correct amount of it. Count it in moles!

Hi, sorry for misunderstanding. You are right. Do not forget about correct amount of it. Count it in moles!
Diethylamine - molar mass 73,14 g/mol - in movie 40 ml was used
Dimethylamine - molar mass 45,08 g/mol - if we have 40% solution in water - we have to use 165 ml of 40% dimethylamine in water solution

45,08 / 74,14 = 0,61

40% x 165 ml = 66 ml
66 ml x 0,61 = 40 ml

40 ml od diethylamine should be replaced by 165 ml 40 % dimethylamine in water solution TO GET DMT IN NEXT STEPS
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG AND PLEASE LET ME KNOWIS IT NOT PROBLEM THAT DIMETHYLAMINE WILL BE 40% SOLUTION IN WATER - WILL IT BE PROBLEM WITH LATER USE OF LiAH? Product after step 3 will be dried but i still prefare to ask...

45,08 / 74,14 = 0,61
45.08 is incorrect mass. Diethylamine has 0.707 g/ml. 40*0.707 = 28.28 g

40% x 165 ml = 66 ml
66 ml x 0,61 = 40 ml

40 ml od diethylamine should be replaced by 165 ml 40 % dimethylamine in water solution TO GET DMT IN NEXT STEPS
I don't understand where did you take 165 ml. Your calculation completely wrong.

You cannot use water solution. Please, don't use Caps Lock. I see well your messages.

Thank You - i know now where i make mistake. I am thinking about making dimethylamine like in this movie. If it cannot be water solution than maybe its possible to gas it directly to the solution from part 3 instead of diethylamine? In move in the end he place dimethylamine in water but maybe we can place tube directly in solution and get our goal easy...

You can dissolve it directly in MTBE solvent.

Dear Experts (specifically Mr. G.Patton)....I started with 10 g of indole and followed all steps with extreme care at every step regarding drying of solvents and intermediate products etc, until I got DET free base (little more brownish than what is in the video)...then took extreme care to gasify with dry HCl gas in Et2O medium. To my surprise, I got no precipitation of crystals but some dark brown tar came out. I reconverted this into free base again by adding NaOH and repeated the process of gasification but again got the same gooey and tarry stuff...I had the tried to dry the stuff in desiccator at about 5 mbar for 12 hrs at about 80 C, but the stuff remain taar and converted into solid thing. Kindly advice and let me know where the problem may exist and how can it be fixed........

kindly note the correction of 2nd last paragraph of my above question in red color as under:-

@G.Patton
1. Diethylamine density: 0.707 g/ml
2. Volume of diethylamine used: 40 ml

Calculating mass-

Mass of diethylamine = Volume of diethylamine × Density of diethylamine
Mass of diethylamine = 40 ml × 0.707 g/ml = 28.28 g

the density of dimethylamine is 0.664 g/ml (I’m not sure about this).

the volume of dimethylamine needed to match the mass of diethylamine:

Volume of dimethylamine = Mass of diethylamine / Density of dimethylamine
Volume of dimethylamine = 28.28 g / 0.664 g/ml ≈ 42.5 ml

So, I should use approximately 42.5 ml of dimethylamine to replace 40 ml of diethylamine in the synthesis? Is this correct?

Hello, you need to count moles. Do you wanna count how much dimethylamine do you need?
This is correct:
Mass of diethylamine = Volume of diethylamine × Density of diethylamine
Mass of diethylamine = 40 ml × 0.707 g/ml = 28.28 g
Other calculation is nonsense.

28.28g diethylamine/ 73,14 (molecular weight)=0.387 moles
Then, multiply these moles on molecular weight of dimethylamine.
Moles, grams, litres and chemical calculations

This tech is so difficult compared to the wizards of DMT on Hamiltons pharmacopia,
This is the complete synthesis with all manipulation in comparison with Hamilton's censored video without any valuable for synthesis information.

Can you release this video as a text post? it's much harder to keep track of a subtitled video

This is a lovely synthesis….

Iv always wanted to try this on 4-AcO-indole using dimethylamine to be honest.

I would assume it would work nicely to produce 4-AcO-DMT but I’m not at that skill level yet. I’d probably kill myself at this stage so I better not try it yet! Ha

Whoops, I now know enough to know that ent how it’s done! Ha either way it is still using a speeter/anthony method I just got the precursor wrong!
