PH of bmk ??? Basify???

Hi everyone
I would like to ask what ph should be Bmk after basification...??? Is it increasing YELD??? some people just skip that step. What difference it makes?? I'm using leuckart wallach method without spectacular yelds
Would high ph of bmk increase my results???

BMK 5449 is already saponified say the it is already the sodium salt and it should test very alkaline in water due to residual base present. So adding any base like NaOH to it is utter nonsense.

I've understood that I've not specify what bmk.. bmk syntetized from one of precursor like apaan. So what difference make to use as straight away in leuckart-wallach or basify and then leuckart-wallach. If Basify is needed then what ph the Bmk should by basif?

There is no universally valid answer for all of the dozens of different "BMK" variations. BMK what was previous another name for Phenylaceton, P2P, means in the new China speak just "direct P2P precursor". And there are many possibilities

Ok lets tryother way...
I'm preping my ketone from apaan... ph after that step is low. IN THIS POINT SOME CHEMISTS BASIFY BMK TO RISE PH AND SOME ARE USING IT STRAIGHT AWAY.

My queation was what influance on leuckart wallach reaction have ph of bmk??? I'm not basifaying mine one and before I waste any caustic i rather to ask is it Worth it.
