Reaction scheme:
Synthesis:
1. To a stirring solution of indole (1 eq.) in CH2Cl2 was added SnCl4(1,2 eq.) in a single portion.
2. After the ice bath was removed, the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 30 min, and then acetic anhydride (1 eq.) was added in small portions to the suspension, followed by nitromethane.
3. The mixture was stirred for 2 h at room temperature.
4. After being quenched with ice and water, the mixture was filtered to remove inorganic precipitates, and the organic material was extracted with ethyl acetate.
5. The organic phase was dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated at reduced pressure to give the product as a crystalline solid.
