Does having methylamine in ethanol or methanol, compared to water, change the yield of the 4mmc reaction using ethyl acetate?

Just curious.

You could use it in alcohol like IPA, but the point could be for the synthesis in the EA, so you can directly evaporate the solution
probably you can for example in 10l reactor get like about 1kg of product every 2-3h :) a lot of time is saved and probably a bit yield will be incrashed

ofc if you had different vesells for acidfication etc.

at what step in the process do you evaporate the solution and for what purpose? I didn t really understand

In the ethyl acetate synthesis as a solvent, its recommended to be evaporated under pressure to incrashe the yield later.
Ethyl acetate will react with water and hcl on the acdifiication - we wanna avoid that.
IF we d have the methylamine in alcohol, we can evaporate both of them instead of separation/filtering the layers.

if we evaporate both solvents right after the reaction, we're going to get a suspension of methylamine HBr/HI/HCl in freebase 4-mmc oil that we need to filter. When air is blown through unstable 4-mmc freebase during vacuum filtration, shouldn't we expect any significant losses?

Alcohols are not suitable for this reaction, better toluene, xylol, benzene
