"Ethadone" ?

I wonder why there are so few to no Methadone derivatives on the market. The Methadone structure is not covered by the new psychoactive substances law. Clearly, Methadone itself will be protected by the pharmaceutical law, but any minor alteration would again lead to an over-the-counter substance. That's why I wonder why these are not found with few to no research chemical dealers.

For example, I have wondered if it might be possible to substitute Diethylamino-2-chloropropane for Dimethylamino-2-chloropropane in the Methadone synthesis, which would result in Methadone with two ethyl groups instead of methyl groups on the nitrogen atom. I'm not a trained chemist, but I can imagine that this substance would have similar properties to Methadone, but would not be protected by any law.

IC-26 (WIN 1161-3, Methiodone) is an analogue of the opioid analgesic methadone, where the carbonyl group has been replaced by the bioisosteric sulfone group.


Human and animal studies suggest that IC-26 is around the same potency as methadone, although other studies have found its activity to be inconsistent between different patients, with consistent opioid activity only being seen at a dose several times that of methadone. IC-26 was assessed for its abuse potential, but despite being found to have similar potential to methadone for development of dependence it was never placed under international control as an illegal drug.

How abaut the Iso-methadone ? its the isomer that halfs afther the gringnard that is liquid that they discard, is seen to be with higher potency, i may be the first soon to post a methadone synthesis have a source from PL for the materials just need some time and money ;p
