iodine from tincture

Please help me. I tried extract iodine from tincture and it failed. I don't know what i did wrong. I use this method
Can someone helps me?
Is another way to get iodine?

Iodine isn't dissolving in water. You can just pour solution in water and left it in an open (well ventilated) area to let I2 evaporate from your solution.

I don't know why this method takes H2O2 and HCl, you can get I2 without them.

KI3 occurs in equilibrium with I2 and KI, its better to oxidize all iodine to improve yields by one third in theory, if you talking about to pour tincture in water.

tincture of iodine is a mixture of potassium iodide and iodine in alcohol or water, the best method to add is to dilute the mixture with water and add some kind of oxidizing agent (sodium percabonate may work, but hydrogen peroxide is better not to use iodine is an excellent catalyst for the decomposition of peroxide). So you excrete additional iodine from potassium iodide + iodine.

You don't have to add water. Simply add 1 part tincture and 2 parts hydrogen peroxide and a cap full of muriatic acid the iodine crystals will precipitate after a short amount of time
