N-(2-Phenylpropyl)-Piperidinone

I was reading the post about fentanyl synthesis, and was hoping someone can give a bit of info or a guide on how to make this precursor to alpha methyl fentanyl. This compound seems like a good candidate for home use, as it's just potent enough to be cheap, but long lasting enough (supposed to be longer lasting than regular fentanyl, can't find by how much) to be more practical.

I know the phenyl 2 bromopropane can be made from allylbenzene and hydrobromic acid, I think, but are there other routes?

What do you mean "for home use"? This substance extremely potent and can lead to death in case of silly mistake. BB forum team don't recommend you to make it or use in safety reasons.

Yes, very potent, but imo with the right precautions, like a gas mask, some long clothing to prevent any absorbing through the skin, wiping everything down after and during synthesis to get any left overs, perhaps even some naltrexone/naloxone before hand to be extra safe, one can make it without to much issue imo.

Plus, you'd only have to make small amounts to support a habit. If one is at the point of making fent, they either have a habit or soon will.

Are you sure on this information about the potency of α-methylfentanyl, I have seen like 6 different sources all of them tell different strength, from 50x to 200x, 100x, 7000x morphine, I think the last source must have mistaken this one for 3-methyl-F. Wikipedia tells: α-Methylfentanyl has similar effects to fentanyl. It is less potent by weight due to reduced binding affinity to its target site
