I'm trying to see if phenyl acetic can b converted to p2p without super high temps.
Like in the lead acetate synthesis, I believe it runs at 200C or 215C. I'd like to run a bit lower.
Same with the iron salts variation, similar to lead acetate. It runs at 250C.
The acetic anhydride route is run much cooler but the need for a large excess of anhydride make it impractical. Are there any PTCs that might help reduce the need for such an excess?
Trying to find a practical route for large scale production of p2p from phenylacetic that doesn't require above 200C basically, would like lower.
