The National Crime Agency took over the suspect at Heathrow airport / He was sending migrants from the mainland to the British Isles in small boats

A man suspected of being involved in an organised crime group trafficking people from France and Belgium has been returned to the UK after absconding. NCA officers arrested Arsen Feci, 46, of Broxtowe Street, Nottingham, as he was being driven to Heathrow Airport on November 20. Operations against these crimes are very frequent in the British Isles.
Feci had been arrested in Spain in August 2024 after fleeing Britain in March 2023, when the courts released him on bail ahead of his trial. He appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on the morning of November 21 charged with aiding illegal immigration to the UK.
NCA investigators believe Feci was involved in the purchase of equipment and the search for personnel to staff the border crossings from France and Belgium to the UK. He was remanded in custody and will appear before the same court again on January 16, 2025.

Derek Evans, NCA branch commander, said: "Arsen Feci fled the UK after being charged over his alleged involvement in a human trafficking gang bringing people to the UK in small boats. We believe that his role in the group was to get equipment and personnel to ensure that the crossings were a success. Thanks to the Spanish police, Feci has been arrested and returned to the UK.”
