In Bangalore, India, police discovered an MDMA laboratory set up in a rented house in the Electronics City neighborhood. A 38-year-old man from Africa was detained. He is accused of manufacturing and distributing drugs - the detainee reportedly supplied MDMA to major drug dealers in India and other countries.
Police also say the detainee had two passports - one from Uganda and one from Mozambique.
Law enforcement officials got on the lab's trail while investigating a drug trafficking case in eastern Bangalore. After arresting the traffickers, cops found a video on one of the traffickers' phones, which talked about a large MDMA lab in Bangalore. After questioning the detainees, police had all the information they needed to locate and seize the lab.
The chemicals seized during the arrest were acetone, hypophosphorous acid, re-sublimed 99% iodine and sodium hydroxide. Also seized were a yerner cylinder, plastic, a heating pad, a flask, a face mask, a pH stick, and other equipment used to make drugs.
An associate of the detainee involved in drug manufacturing is also wanted.
