Question Why does amphetamine/speed glow on a flashlight?

I was always intrested in why does speed glow on a flashlight and does it mean something? Junkies around here in Bulgaria always check the quality of the amphetamine by puting it on flashlight and the color mean:
Red - weak and cut with something,
Orange - strong but cut,
Yellow - weak but uncut,
Green - strong and uncut.
For me is just a myth, but Im intrested, to know why is it even a thing?

Im from BG and nobody here checks the quality by putting it to flashlight xd , its some mytg or some drug addict stupidity iditiosm combined with using and thinking the color is different by doing that test on different samples and thinking he investigates something xd

You are only right with the Flashlight , but its true that people in sofia are check it with flashlight but this are End customers, who dont care nobody what they say. Most BG producers sell her product pressed in Pills and sell tons but one street you have never sell tons .

Are we talking about a uv light or a regular flashlite? Anything that glows under light does so becase it doesnt absorb light at the wavelength it is fluorescence. Using a uv light doesnhave some merit for initial identification of a drug. Thenright light is key thou, putting out the right wavelength

I'M not sure what you mean as far as change anything. I also cant see what you are seeing. There are several phenomenon related to a prism that could be construed as glowing. Like, when you look at a fiber optic cable, you can see that light emanates from it, but the face of the cable ( the end) glows 10x as bright as the side, could it be that?
