Question "Best" Pre-Precursor?

What is the best pre-precursor for mdma?



I was thinking one could order piperonyl alcohol, and subject it to the same routes as videos on here show to the aldehyde, then the aldehyde to the glycidate?



I'm trying to find the best place to "enter" on the path to the ketone, that is reasonably accessible, and isn't straight precursor, like ordering pmk glycidate.

Something industrially used is preferred, as that is available in bulk.

vanillin or eugenol. Can buy in bulk for cheap and those will never be banned so so you can fuck up and practice as much as you want if the cost of the other reagents allows it. vanillin is a two-step synth to piperonal and eugenol is the same two-steps to safrole but note vanillin->piperonal->mdma involves nitroethane which is its own hurdle.

Eugenol, I would think.

Nitroethane isn't cheap, but it is absolutely available. A friend ordered some and after hers comes in, she will send me a picture of the bottle, and after I order some, I will post it here so others see it

I think it could be argued that catachol is a good choice

Its i think one of the best choises available, so many options really, protocatcoldehyde, 3,4dihydro-allylbenzene,, and so on .

I like the allylbenzene, as the routes through the aldehyde require either nitroethane or 2 halopropionic acids, sort of a bottle neck.

Care to speculate if one could methylenate a phenyl 2 propanone, or a amine? Say 3, 4 dihydroxymethamphetamine?
