1. Alumiiniamalgaami on valmistettava etukäteen, se on tärkeä vaihe
2. Lisää p2p, metyyliamiini amalgaamiin yhdessä isopropanolin kanssa.
3. Pidä reaktiolämpötila <30 astetta
4. 40g p2p:llä ja 40g alumiinifoliolla saat 100 % runaway :).
5. Lisää NaOH/KOH ennen Al/Hg-lietteen suodattamista, se helpottaa suodatusprosessia ja tappaa jäljelle jäävän Al
6. Ja niin edelleen...

Tein ennen 200L-tynnyreillä, 100L-tynnyrit kelpaavat myös, ja tein yhden potin reaktion.

350-400 grammaa elohopeaa 10L b (400 grammaa on todella paljon aggressiivista), 15L metyyliamiinia 40% ja sitten noin 30L metanolia.
Foliosta en ole varma, olin lopulta tehnyt noin 2/3 ämpärin täyteen naarmuuntunutta/vaurioitunutta foliota (ei palloja) joten se oli tuo paino.

Lopulta se oli liian paljon foliota.
Saanto; 12L PH 12:ssa.

Takaisin metyyliamiinin kanssa, kaikki tietävät, että on olemassa parempia vaihtoehtoja, kun työskennellään esim. Al/Hg:n kanssa.

When you say the Al amalgam can be made in situ does that mean one doesn’t have to wash & decant the HgCl from the aluminum before introducing the p2p + methylamine mixture? The HgCl can be left in the flask while reduction happens and will be extracted out later during product purification?

I'm currently experimenting with al/hg and wanted to scale the synthesis. I asked myself the question of whether it is absolutely necessary to use a capacitor? I suspect it is needed to keep the methylamine and solvent (methanol) in reaction vessel. But would it be possible to compensate for methylamine loss with a new methylamine-methanol solution?

Perhaps an excess of methylamine was used, not much, just to compensate
Add an amount of water
Keep the temperature no more than 60 degrees and you will be fine

I have heard of success with nitromethane, but the yields are lower.
