Is it convenient to use distillation (or vacuum distillation) system to distill the freebase? Or the yeld in this case is too low?
As I remember, boiling points of amphetamine family freebases are around 105C, so probably it shall be around 85-95C if done with vacuum.
What temperature shall be kept if done without vacuum in regular round bottom flask?

Why you don't use hexane to bubble, then your ph will always be correct.
And after your lye and you vacuum distill it again, so you can directly pour cold HCL on it instead of generating gas to create directly crystals your red color doesn't make it suitable for crystal growing the shards will be cloudy because of the low P.h.

If you bubble in a non-polar solvent, except xylene because it gets reduced ( i found out with expensive base inside ), it participates out as an salt. excess HCL goes in the air.
In general all impurities stay then in the hexane layer.
And instead of cold acetone washing, you can also wash your meth in hot hexane.
