You are right. You may add Acetic anhydride between 5-6 steps to acetylate morphine. Adjust pH ~3 and, after one hour stirring, neutralize to pH ~5.5-6 by sodium bicarbonate.

Yes, I call this product opium.. but you only used dry capsule pods, am I right?

This method is written for a black tar production. You can make heroine from latex, black tar is much poor product.
