Would sodium borohydride, coupled with copper 2 chloride, be able to reduce nitromethane to methylamine?

Just figured there has got to be a better way than immense, hard to stir amounts of iron, or mercury amalgams.

I am not completely familiar with the process but for methylamine gas, perhaps you have heard you can add nitromethane RC fuel and methanol to generate the gas, or something like that?

I know one can use mercury amalgam, that just has some extra precautions to take. It uses mercury salts, which are toxic, and runs really hot, aka exothermic.

The nitromethane has to be reduced, and there are many ways of doing so, but they all seem rather inconvenient to me. Borohydride and copper 2 chloride would, theoretically, be rather easy and clean to do.
