p2p chemical
80ml benzaldehyde 80ml methyl ethyl ketone
160ml pure water chlorform 64+64
240gr sodium bicarbonate|240g magnesium sulfate
800ml glacial acetic acid 104gr 50% hydrogen peroxide
240gr magnesium sulfate
800ml pure water 400ml chloroform
48 g sodium hydroxide 200 ml distilled water 80 ml chloroform
240 g magnesium sulfate
Is this chemical calculation correct? please urgent reply

Should I lower the pH with water and sodium bicarbonate or just use sodium bicarbonate?

For the pH neutral process, I will use sodium carbonate + how many Gr, I will make the pH in the separating funnel neutral, I can make the scarbonate and water mixture directly in the solution and bring it to pH 7 level.

not to mention adding water will make the acetic acid react with the bicarbonate

I didn't really get Felix's post. If you're talking about Baeyer-Williger:

I always use sodium carbonate to make neutral solution. When I raise the pH in BV-oxidation to less acidic, or neutral, it makes the peracetic- or performic acid less reactive, and that prevents little bit of those side reactions, like doing it without external heat does also prevent them from forming (not 100%). Thats what I learned from Rhodium Archives about peracid oxidations. Those carbonates won't react otherwise with at least those two peracids. When the sodium carbonate reacts with acetic acid solution, it produces sodium acetate, that have also something good, or at least nothing bad to do with the oxidation reaction. I don't remember ..

you need to provide more information for example what is the process you are planning because i can tell you right now that if you just mix everything together you are not going to make anything but a big mess
