Olá,

Depois de muitos testes com Metilamina HCL baseados neste método, vou partilhar a melhor forma que encontrei para obter Metanfetamina freebase em grande escala:

  • 966 gr P2P
  • 14 litros de Metanol
  • 1183 gr Metilamina HCL
  • 638 gr NaOH
  • 452 gr Sulfato de sódio anidro
  • 105 gr NaBH4
  • 35 L de água destilada
  • 7 litros de DCM

- Encher o reator com os 14 L de metanol
- Com agitação, dissolver a Metilamina HCL
- Colocar a temperatura do reator a 0C (não a temperatura da mistura) e adicionar o NaOH, a temperatura irá aumentar
- Quando a temperatura voltar a 20C, adicione o P2P, a temperatura aumentará, mexendo durante 45min-1 hora
- Adicionar 252gr de sulfato de sódio anidro
- Quando a temperatura da mistura chegar a 8C, começar a adicionar porções de NaBH4 não excedendo os 20C
- Quando todo o NaBH4 tiver sido adicionado, deixar misturar a 20C durante aprox. 2 horas até a mistura parar de borbulhar
- Adicionar a água e continuar a misturar durante 5 min
- Adicionar o DCM e misturar durante 10 minutos
- Parar de mexer e deixar as camadas separarem-se
- Manter a camada inferior e deitar fora a superior (não é rentável extrair esta fase aquosa)
- Adicionar 200 g de sulfato de sódio anidro à camada guardada e misturar
- Filtrar no funil de Buchner
- Evaporar o DCM
- Obtenção de uma base livre de metanfetamina limpa e malcheirosa

Is the 35 litres of water added to ensure seperation of the dcm and water cos of the methanol present to stop it all mixing?
and are you using a 100 litre HDPE paint bucket as the reaction vessel?

Is 15g of NaBH4 enough as the reducing agent for 138g of P2P? Or should I add a small amount of reducing agent to avoid some side reactions?

Hello, yes it's not enough. You have to add at least equimolar amount 38.91g of NaBH4. It's even worth to add a little more, ~1.1 eqviv 42.8g.

Idol, there must be a special reason why you choose to use less reducing agent! For example, to avoid certain side reactions or to favor certain steps? Please Master, please enlighten me on the mystery behind this.
