O opțiune ceva mai simplă de producere a metilaminei ar fi reducerea nitrometanului CH3NO2 la metilamină CH3NH2 prin amalgam Al/Hg.

Am impresia că există un motiv, deoarece utilizarea combustibilului pentru aeromodele pentru a produce metilamină in vitro este o cale obișnuită... fie se degradează rapid, fie... sună ca o reacție energetică

I made the synthesis with a last minute decision in 3 lt capacity. The yield was good, I got 270 grams.
